Going by the sites entered in the Paleobiology Database, this would be on the eastern margin of the known Jiaguan localities but not all that far away (it can be visualized with those sites if Early Cretaceous is selected for that area, as it has been entered as an unattributed Early Cretaceous site: https://paleobiodb.org/classic/basicCollectionSearch?collection_no=35284).Justin Tweethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01792470288586894872noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6574000839639433662.post-77865169011879353882023-02-11T20:51:56.975-06:002023-02-11T20:51:56.975-06:00So while writing up a Database entry for this, I t...So while writing up a Database entry for this, I tackled the geography and geology. Sungkan town is now Songkanzhen, Tungtze Hsien is now Tongzi County, and the Chongqing-Guiyang Highway is China National Highway 210 (G210). While no other Cretaceous fossils have been reported in Tongzi County (besides the "corprolite of fish" associated with IVPP V361), about 54 km north is the Lotus tracksite placed in the Jiaguan Formation, which is also where tracksites 95 km further southwest in Guizhou like Baoyuan are assigned. This may be the most appropriate assignment for the Songkanzhen locality as both it and Baoyuan are equally separated from the main Sichuan Basin.Mickey Mortimerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08831823442911513851noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6574000839639433662.post-70926300739999894012015-12-08T07:49:04.300-06:002015-12-08T07:49:04.300-06:00That's an interesting resemblance! As for the identification, what do you think of the resemblance between it and Acrocanthosaurus' axis (Harris, 1998)? Same kind of spoon-like neural spine, would explain the lack of neural spine laminae...Mickey Mortimerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08831823442911513851noreply@blogger.com
